Dr. Momi was a general dentist for 3 years before returning to school to specialize in pediatric dentistry. As a general dentist she found herself working exclusively with children and their families and decided to make it official and become a pediatric dentist! She loves watching her patients literally “grow up” between visits and how every patient and family is truly unique and special. No two days are ever the same and she loves that!
Where did you study dentistry?
Dr. Momi’s undergraduate studies took place at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she achieved a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. She then attended The University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio for her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After practicing general dentistry for several years in Lubbock, Texas she returned to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to obtain her specialty certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Momi has extensive training in pharmacologic sedation, hospital dentistry, behavior management, and interceptive orthodontics.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
When she’s not hanging out with patients at OPD smiles Dr. Momi is spending time with her husband, Ali and her Havanese puppy Baloo. She loves ethnic cooking and baking, trying new restaurants, and international travel.
Orthodontic treatment isn’t just about straightening teeth – it can improve your child’s developing bite, prevent dangerous overcrowding of teeth, fix breathing and swallowing problems, help them speak more clearly, and improve their self-confidence
as well! Dr. Michael offers a wide variety of services that are a great fit for every age group with a personalized touch.
It’s never too early to get children started on the right path towards a healthy, happy smile that lasts for life. Dr. Russell has plenty of experience with treating infants, toddlers, school-aged children, teenagers, and everyone who falls
somewhere in-between. Better yet, his pediatric care approach will grow with patients over time in order to keep them feeling at ease.
